"I-I was wondering, could we maybe see the movie later and take the rest to go? Only i-if they do takeout." God, probably not. Her face is hot.

"Certainly, I'm sure we could do that. Pardon me." Oops, sorry Paloma that means he's going to get up to talk to a server, leaving her alone with Hyde again.

And there goes his hand, higher. "Are we going back to the house? A little snack before your movie?"

Miracle of miracles, her glass doesn't spill. Paloma empties the remains down her throat and slaps the bottom onto the table. Consequently he has the time to get in higher than he ought. Much. Higher.

She grabs him, of course, by the wrist in a vice. "Yeah, yes! In private!"

"Are you that turned on already? Wow..." His fingers wiggle as if he's trying to get higher still to check. "You do like the idea of fucking two people at once, don't you? Does the identical part make it even better...?"

He feels sincere and real. Bit by bit, Paloma's hackles lower; the two brothers might be mental opposites, but she is the outsider in a relationship they've had their whole lives. His reluctance to 'share' comes from an understandable place.

She exhales, watching him refusing to watch her. "I believe you now. Don't worry, please. He could still decide we don't have anything but art in common."

Jekyll has been delayed a while, she notes but, having sympathy for the servers and somehow reaching an accord with Hyde, doesn't sweat it. Paloma's next impulse is to touch the side of his hand (the one he'd put almost between her legs, it turns out).

"No way, I was totally serious. ...The best case scenario to me is being in on it." And yet somehow his grin isn't as lewd as it had been. Linking his fingers with hers helps that.

She's not tugging away. Her eyes have gone wide and startled, rarely blinking. "O-ohh..."

For a boy who communicates primarily through vulgarity-- in their meetings-- she begins to comprehend that this is Edward, too. This is opening himself up to a personal rejection of him as an individual, not the derisive wave-off of, say, a bar patron. And yes, minutes ago he'd been sexually harassing her and no, he's not permitted or excused. But.

"We might have even less in common," she warns him in softer tones. "You'll have to find out if you even like me, same as him. A-and I have no idea how to start, or how to ask."

"Yeah, that's the point of things like dates." He knows, he'll put the effort in. "Anyway it's abnormal to start. But a good thing's still a good thing."

"But what do you mean, starting or asking?" With Jekyll?

Paloma fidgets, reddening the longer he holds her for. What insane turn of events led this to happen? He's right about another bit. Trying to date two brothers simultaneously is certainly irregular, abnormal, you name it.

"Starting to go with two people and, and umm, everyone okay with... that," she finishes lamely. "But you remember this is a first, too?"

"Harry won't mind. You can ask his opinion when he comes back. But obviously it's a first, hell, I haven't dated two people at once." This is gonna get weird, he's gonna make it weird. Slowly but surely. For now though, he lifts her hand to kiss her fingers.

And what nice timing for the older brother to return.

Returning to his twin pulling smooth moves and his date the color of mulberries, neither looking particularly upset or devious.

Weirder, she catches sight of Jekyll and doesn't snatch her limbs back to herself. She bites her lip, smiling cautiously up to him. "I, umm, have a question, but it can wait for the car?"

"Oh?" Well, he's confused. It's the opposite of what he expected. But he has their emails boxed up and ready to go, so he nods and leads the way. "Certainly. I'm glad you seem to be getting along?" Should he be worried??
