Paloma draws herself up, tugging him to his feet along with her. Again he's happy, and the fluttering of his heart confirms what already can be seen. Their fingers entwine.
"Of course the orchestra as well. Which would you prefer first, theatre, opera or orchestra?" All of them can happen, but unfortunately not at once. "I'll set a date based on that."
Her mouth forms a small O. She's caught stage plays and the odd school musical production, but nothing high budget or of real renown, and naturally that's what he means. No one has taken her, and taking herself is a study in lonesome living.
Paloma has been dodging Oxford's Kindred society, such as it is.
"I've never gone to opera in my life. But you had a show already in mind for the orchestra, didn't you? I'd... like to experience that."
"Wonderful, then, are you free Monday? They always play Monday evening, when the theatre has their night off." He doesn't understand the O, nothing he's offering is incredibly special, is it? It's all very average to him, anyway. Even the private box doesn't occur to him as out of the ordinary.
She smooths over the breast of his suit, sparing one last moment to rethink their liaison. It is no more successful than the last ten. How could it be, when she's a hopeless wreck of an isolated tragedy?
Paloma preoccupies the two of them with a kiss that could drown if indulged for too long. She separates only to inhale the scent of vitae directly from his throat. "Take me on Monday and I'm yours for the night? I can persuade them to let me have the shift scratched off."
As long as Hyde doesn't mess things up...... But surely it won't be a problem, he hasn't started to appear of his own accord yet so why would it even cross his mind.
