Oh my.

[ Is all she says for a good, long while. After a moment or two it occurs to her to keep her head up so she stares at a piece of wall past him, if she stares at his face she might think of staring at his dick instead and she's not ashamed, there's neither hide nor hair of a blush on her face, but it's rude.

It's really, really rude. She doesn't know what the protocol for catching someone jerking it even is, actually, but— ]

Berserker... if you'd like to masturbate, there's a greater quantity of tissue to be found in the washroom.

[ Just saying. ]

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh Jesus she's not even looking at him. The lack of blush doesn't matter, he assumes it's because she's apalled and embarrassed.

He stares, but finally manages to pull his underpants up, at least.]

I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me...!

[That said he won't be going to the washroom to continue.]

Are you apologizing to me? You've done nothing wrong.

[ "What came over him" is the urge to masturbate. It's not weird. Once he's decent again she shifts her gaze back. ]

It's nothing so strange as to elicit any shame. Berserker—you are a doctor, aren't you?

[ So he should know it's natural??? ]
cagedinflesh: (they don't say what they mean)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I am - what is that to do with it? I need to apologise, not only to you but to God and even myself! It is something unnatural and vile...!!

[All he wants is to hide - he should at least hide his tears, really. That's unacceptable, so he covers his face with his hands.]

A physician would recognize that the benefits of frequent engagement in masturbation by far outweigh the risks, but I suppose that as a Servant your health is unrelated to either—still, it isn't an unnatural occurrence. It isn't vile—it's common.

[ It is an odd subject, though, and more importantly if he's going to cry she doesn't want anyone else to see that, so she shuts the door behind her. ]

If Mr. Edward exists, it is because you permit your desires to accumulate in an inordinate manner. You would be better served by involving yourself in further masturbation.
cagedinflesh: (What is this feeling of power and drive)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
Simply being common does not make it right!

[Besides, it might be common now, but in his day - okay maybe it was still common but anyone would deny having ever done it. But he appreciates that she makes this more private, at least, if they have to have this conversation at all.]

It certainly wouldn't do any good whatsoever to engage in further depravity! That would be giving in to Hyde rather than defeating him.

[Which is to say, he does know that Hyde exists because he denies himself so much...but that's not the point here.]

[personal profile] unaffective 2016-04-04 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
It isn't depraved. I masturbate, as well as each of the maids, I'm certain. The enemy Servants and Masters are likely to engage in masturbation as well.

[ Insisting it's common isn't going to get her anywhere, though. That's starting to sink in. ]

Why do you feel it to be wrong, Berserker?
cagedinflesh: (living like a masquerade)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Why, it is against God, of course.

[He looks at her as if that's entirely obvious. Everyone knows Jesus cries when you touch yourself. Everyone cares about that piece of common knowledge and pure fact.

...And he definitely didn't need to know that she does it, that earns a flush.]

I don't believe God has any concern for how you choose to relieve yourself. There are nearly eight billion humans living on this planet - spilling one's seed on occasion has no impact on a population so great.

[ She meets his gaze with a flat disinterest she usually saves - at this point anyway, probably - for whatever Hyde is doing at any given time. Numbers. Hard numbers will help. ]
cagedinflesh: (that each man you meet on the street)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
[No, he'll shut his eyes and ears, he won't listen to reason. This is something ingrained in him. Part of a greater whole of propriety that he's built his entire self around!]

I believe he does not intend for us to relieve ourselves but for the purpose of procreation. Within the sanctity of marriage. Not that we must produce plenty of offspring to increase the population, but rather quite the opposite. To replace oneself and nothing more, to show restraint in vices and carnal pleasures. It is His test - and Satan's test.

... Your views are certainly antiquated...

[ It's not like he needs to be okay with masturbating for them to win, but. He really is old. ]

If we're to discuss this further, then I'd like to speak to Mr. Edward. If not, I suppose that's fine. I originally came to show you this pathology text.
cagedinflesh: (that we'd cross if we could are we)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
It was the code in my time...

[Which he supposes must confirm that it's antiquated. But still.

He wants to know what she would speak to Hyde about, but he's also interested in this text... The opportunity makes his other self call to be freed, but Jekyll can't just allow that, he doesn't want Hyde around his Master. So he avoids the topic and presses on with the other.]

What did you find?

[personal profile] unaffective 2016-04-04 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes, it's this one -

[ She pulls a. textbook? out from under her arm to hold it with both her hands. ]

I believe it's a textbook for pathology students... so I must admit some confusion as to how it found its way into this house, but it has been an interesting read. This is the first volume of two, but both combined discuss most major organ systems...

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, how interesting! The study of disease must have grown exponentially since my time!

[How stupid and boring. His smile wavers for a moment.]

Have you come across anything in particular you wished to discuss?

[Does it say anything about diseases of the mind that might be useful to him...?]

[personal profile] unaffective 2016-04-04 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
Hm?

[ She had a long spiel on neuropathology planned, brains are so interesting and the more she reads the more the urge to test some of it for herself settles like a heat in the pit of her stomach but it's not necessary, not right now. She can indulge her curiosities later. For now she can talk to him. She wants to talk to him about it, but.

Well, his expression isn't entirely lost on her either. ]

Is there something the matter?
cagedinflesh: (which none of them ever admits)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, but he'd much rather hear about that. He'd love to discuss and experiment, especially when it comes to the brain.]

-No, not at all. I felt my other self for a moment, that's all. It is nothing to worry over, entirely inconsequential.
unaffective: (51)

[personal profile] unaffective 2016-04-04 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
And he isn't interested in pathology?

[ You think you know someone! She doesn't sound offended at all, but her expression is genuinely shocked. Apparently? ]
cagedinflesh: (it's society's way)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
He tends to look down on anything I appreciate. Although perhaps something like pathology in particular must offend him. He thinks there's no need.
unaffective: (13)

[personal profile] unaffective 2016-04-04 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
Because there's no need to study disease if we'll die independent of our efforts?
cagedinflesh: (may have saintly looks but they're)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose that's a factor... Really the reason is that he simply cares not for others, he can see no reason to strive for such things. Moreover, with my particular interest in the brain, he sees that as something laughable and a direct affront to his existence.
unaffective: (14)

[personal profile] unaffective 2016-04-04 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps you've yet to present them to him in a manner that he would consider palpable. It seems he would enjoy the more aged forms of neurosurgery... is he familiar with lobotomies, or perhaps trepanation?

[ She gets the feeling he'd be into drilling holes in people's heads. ]
cagedinflesh: (sinners and crooks hypocrites)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 09:23 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yes, he is aware of all that I am... However, I would still maintain the idea of doing something useful would cause disinterest or even disdain.

[Although the hesitation in his voice says not to give him any ideas.]
unaffective: (28)

[personal profile] unaffective 2016-04-04 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose it does have some uses, but they appear to be very few. Regardless, if not performed for the purpose of medical aid, I feel it loses even those. Creating a hole in the skull for the purposes of relieving pressure or treating cranial hemorrhaging may be called trepanation or craniectomy, but if no such intent is present, then...

[ She doesn't really intend to give him any, but she's got to make the point anyway. ]
cagedinflesh: (cause man's a master of deceit)

[personal profile] cagedinflesh 2016-04-04 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, although at that point it is hardly a matter of science, is it? Any psychopath with a nail and hammer could do much the same without any knowledge or scientific intention whatsoever. At that level, technically all things are related to science.

[personal profile] unaffective 2016-04-04 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
But that is what Mr. Edward becomes in these circumstances, although his enjoyment would be bolstered by your own knowledge... if he wished it, determining where to make his entrance for optimal effect on the brain would be...

[ There's the tiniest smile on her face as she goes. Is she even talking about him anymore?

Eventually she realizes that's a little too far, though - ]

Ah, but I digress. There is no greater way to attain proficiency in harming others than to familiarize oneself with the sciences, if such is his goal. Accepting your preferences only serves to benefit him. Furthermore, as your Master, I would much prefer it if he and you existed on better terms. Please try to become friends.
