She likes just seeing his face. The fogginess in her smile changes to something outright wistful if not quite carefree.

"No ... ah," Paloma stutters and curls her fingers. "Yes. I fear you may not wish to be improper?"

"...Is it something improper?" Surely it isn't, he says it as if it's a joke. Decidedly innocent.

Is it a trick or do her eyes seem eerily reflective?

"I am not your wife, so begging you to hold me could be seen as improper." The boldest thing she's said all night, if not done.

Once again Henry Jekyll turns red. There's nothing he could want more, but she's right, it's improper!

He can't say anything, all he can do is turn to and wrap his arms around her. Although he has to be sure to keep his hips away.

Well. He isn't exactly opposed to what's being implied here. But he also feels that he shouldn't, and he is also currently aware of the shame and guilt he'll feel afterwards. Especially when it would be dangerously close to taking advantage of her current situation. "I, ah...do not think you are in a good position, currently, or rather, state, to entertain such thoughts...!"

Ah. That's fair. Speaks well of him, too, to mind her vulnerability tonight. She leaves his dick well enough alone and idly knots the fabric much, much farther up and nearer to their chests.

Paloma nods into him with a rustle. "If you do not want to think of it, I will try not too, also. I only ... this may be the last I see you."

Oh. He hopes it isn't. He could never say it, but he does think of her so often, wishes he hadn't ruined everything so that they might see eachother more often. "Should that not be a reason, then, to avoid it?" If they don't see eachother again, then wouldn't it be worse on her?

That's a way to look at it, even if he may not be thinking of her death as she is.

Paloma curls closer, determined fully to enjoy the cuddling for what it is and not what it could be. "As you say," she whispers.

And now he hopes too that he isn't disappointing her. Or offending her either. He wants to have sex with her, really! Very badly!!!

Meanwhile, she hopes she hasn't offended him by suggesting something so improper!!!

She sinks blunt teeth into her lips. Really, really bad habit to get into as a vampire, but so hard to break. "I like to be with you, too. I feel I know you better every time we meet and when we go I feel a loss. Harry, to lie with you like this gives me happiness. I am less frightened of the death Carlos will give me."

"He will not harm you, if he should lay a single finger on you, I shall see that he is run off." And he is apparently very serious about that, truly thinks he could do something about it.

It's baffling that she could still have any affection or respect for him, after the things she's seen, but Jekyll is grateful for it. It's the only reason he can dare to ask, "...May I kiss you?"

His sincerity means a thousand times more to her than any other empty promise made to date. It's not empty, because Paloma can tell he's more genuine than the parade of liars and parasites her life is inundated with.

She smiles giddily, very foolishly-- not where he can see, as she's bumped her forehead against him explicitly to hide it. "Yes, you may. Nothing would give me more pleasure."

Given permission, Jekyll is almost too afraid to go through with it. So improper. But it's what he wants, so it's what he does, ultimately, propping himself up on an elbow to lean down, hand in her hair.

"Please do not say it will be the last I will see you?"

He won't taste the blood she diligently washed away, or smell the faint copper someone with senses like hers might detect. No. Paloma's only soft and careful as he is.

It's saying good night.

"For you asking this, I want to surprise myself and come back after whatever happens tomorrow."
