Good. Then they don't have to be more restrained. Still a little, being in a public space, but still.
Good thing that's easy too since they're British. Do you have everything?" Maybe they need to go back and get something she forgot! That would be good honestly.
One overstuffed suitcase, a girl bundled up for London weather and two identical twins who could not be presenting themselves more differently. And they're holding hands in the airport lobby, tucked out of the way of the people stream.
"I wanna stay," she laughs thickly. "Could I? Hide me from my boss, though. And the government."
"It's fine, we'll say you're here on vacation. Not like you'd need a job if you stayed with us anyway." Besides that maybe some people actually find enjoyment and worth in a career unlike Hyde.
"I certainly wouldn't say no." But the other understands she can't drop everything to be with them.
Hyde seems convinced of its potential, of course, but Paloma can only smile pathetically and look down at her boots. A scarf hides every hickey, bite and bruise riddling her throat, and nobody's noticed yet that she's moved with a slight waddle.
"I wish you could fly, too. It freaks the hell out of me, you know."
They can watch the minute elation in her face, how her eyes widen and a beaming, wider smile is unearthed.
They can also see it crumple in on itself. "No, I don't know. A-and, if she asked why you were coming with us and not the patron..." Her pessimism and hopes mingle like oil and water.
Caught in the middle of his enthusiasm, she looks back and forth between them, unsure of how best to proceed. Is what he's asking for even possible? Depends on the man who got her and Veronica their tickets in first class. (His generosity before ever meeting them in person weighs heavily in his favor.)
"We do, yeah," she stumbles. "But, um, this isn't up to me."
"Hm?" Are they asking him if it's okay? Oh, because of money huh. That's a little awkward, Edward doesn't usually ask permission to spend. "Oh- it's fine. I mean, If you both actually want to. ...Do you have anything for a trip with you?"
"I can get whatever once I'm there." True enough. Jekyll might be a little extra lonely if they both go, but...
Super ridiculously awkward, and she disentangles from his hand to gnaw her fingernails. The alternative-- look him in the eye and calmly wait-- seems impossible.
"Is this really happening?" She wavers between giddy and anxious. How to explain it, how to...
"You're fucking right it is, I'm gonna buy it." He nyooms off. Maybe not runs, being in an airport, but as fast as he can power walk. Not without grabbing Jekyll's wallet from his pocket either.
"--All that fuss for nothing, I guess, huh?" Particularly Hyde's fuss.
She kind of wants to bolt after him after he steals his brother’s wallet, reeling forward and back while anchored by Jekyll’s hand.
Paloma stares at that retreating back, not believing that this is happening for real. “Oh...” Two flights, a four hour layover, and him without any luggage or whatever entertains him. She steps away and into Jekyll’s chest, turning her cheek.
“Not for nothing. I think there’ll be two of us missing you from Mexico.”
Has Jekyll noticed he was pickpocketed? Apparently not.
"He'll forget about that pretty quickly, anyway, with you to distract." He squeezes her hand, and although he's reluctant with public displays of affection, he accepts that an embrace is happening. It's an acceptable time and place for it at least. "I'm going to miss you too, both. Will you call me...?"
If she just looks at him and thinks only of him, the noise and bustle surrounding them is lost and they’re all that matters. Her arms slip cautiously around his waist in a shy attempt to hold and be held.
“Call and more, like we promised.” Her heart shivers and shakes. Surely he’ll feel it, pressed to him. “Henry... Harry. Can you come, too?”
"I would be sorely tempted if I could." He smiles a little, laying his cheek on her head. "Only I can't ignore my patients. I'm sorry..." It's one thing for Hyde, but Jekyll has work and obligations.
He’ll feel her nod, certainly. Paloma is a smart, reasonable girl even if she doesn’t think it much of the time. People can’t be left waiting for the help they need.
“Healing is the most important thing you could be doing. I hope you’ll think about coming, whether for work or... anything else.” It trails off and away from the ‘for me’ it almost became.
"There's only one reason I would." Too weenie to say her too.......
When Hyde comes back, he rifles through the wallet for anything he might want before actually returning it as carefully as he took it. "We're sitting together~~~" The most honey voice.
Paloma folds so comfortably into Jekyll's front that she can see no reason to leave it, or draw away as she watches the wallet re-enter his belongings...
"Edward bought a first class ticket," she tattles.
"...Well, I suppose there wouldn't be any other way to sit with you..." He hadn't considered that it would be first class, and yet, of course it would. "You're booking business class on the way back though!" Just because they're rich doesn't mean they need to spend pointlessly!!
“He got your ticket...” Credit where credit is due, the seat would’ve stayed empty if he hadn’t stolen that wallet. If she hadn’t offhandedly said he should follow her to another country and across the ocean.
Paloma peels off and clings to Hyde with the same desperate strength. “Why did you do that for me!!”
"W-why do you think!" Hyde might have asked for affection but he isn't quite sure how to take this kind. It just flusters him, so much that he can't reciprocate and instead only stand there, uncomfortable (and tsuntsun).
A girl who needs big courage just to go for physical contact like that, Paloma is fast about letting him go and stepping away. She looks like he punched a kitten’s ass.
“Never mind whatever I’m thinking. I don’t even know what I’m thinking. Harry, are we foolish?”
